Patti Collins was born in California, and raised by southern parents in a small Georgia town. She started her dance career at the age of 9 and was always interested in exercise and movement. She was an original member of the Augusta Civic Ballet Company, then later moved to California and joined another dance company with an emphasis on modern dance. Patti returned to Georgia after her mother suffered a debilitating stroke, to help and assist with her daily living. She started taking yoga and private Pilates lessons in 2000, and decided to get a certification, not initially to teach, but just to have a deeper understanding of the practice. “It was never my intention to teach, however, the owner of the studio needed a substitute teacher and I taught my first class and became hooked!” She discovered the joy in teaching and seeing her students achieve their fitness goals.

Sara Sammons-Ulmer experienced firsthand the benefits of Pilates when it improved her chronic back pain caused by hunching over a drafting table while getting her BFA in Art/Interior Design at the University of Georgia.  Sara had trained as a rhythmic gymnast and ballroom dancer so she really appreciated the technique behind the Pilates Method.  After graduation, and experiencing the positive effects of Pilates, Sara decided to become an instructor and share the benefits of Pilates with others so they could live life with balance, joy, ease and grace.  Sara enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities who want to make a positive change in their life through movement.  Her step by step approach makes it easy for her clients to grow and feel strong in their Pilates practice.  Sara strives to help her clients feel good about what they accomplished and see and feel the benefits in their every day lives. Sara has been teaching since 2004 and is a trained Body Awareness Studio Pilates Instructor, Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) Certified Instructor, ACE Group Fitness Instructor, and Balanced Body (BB) Master Instructor.

Leanne Lapp became interested in Pilates in 2003 in Florida, then moved with her family to Roswell where she continued her passion for Pilates. She received her training through The Physical Mind Institute and completed Reformer I training at I Heart Pilates in 2017. Leanne teaches part-time, and also specializes in working with teen boys and girls in helping them with their athletic endeavors, flexibility, and strength goals.

Sarah Hailey is a certified Pilates, Yoga and Barre instructor who has been training with the I Heart Pilates team since she and her family moved to Roswell in 2016.   Before then, she spent 5 years teaching out of her home and at The Body Bar in Smyrna, GA. Sarah Hailey’s diverse background and passion for wellness is evident in her welcoming and encouraging teaching style. She loves to help strengthen and restore her students’ bodies through breath work and dynamic movement patterns.  Some of her favorite things about teaching are choreographing new classes, connecting with members of the community and promoting wellness through regular exercise. She primarily teaches during the day while her 8 and 7-year-old children attend school.
